We see it on every field across the league: Players pacing the sidelines, bouncing to stay loose, earbuds popped in to drown out the world, head bobbing.
What exactly are they listening to? Is it Ke$ha or Katy Perry? Please don’t let it be Miley Cyrus. Maybe it’s Smashing Pumpkins? Bach? The Beatles?
You won’t find a pop-filled playlist on the D.C. Current’s defensive captain Daniel Kantor‘s iPhone. Kantor posted his Boston pre-game set to Facebook early on Thursday. His tastes seem to run the gamut from Afro-alt rock (“Come With Me Now” by KONGOS) to indie pop (“Jenny” by Walk The Moon) to English folk/punk (“Recovery” by Frank Turner). And that’s just the first three songs.
Whatever genre these songs fall under, there is a good chance “you probably haven’t heard of them.” You think you’re so cool, don’t you Kantor?
