D.C. Current Fans,
On behalf of the Washington D.C. Current organization and the entire MLU, we’d like to thank our incredible fans for another great year of ultimate!
This holiday season we have a lot to be thankful for, and at the top of that list is you – the fans. Year-in and year-out, in good weather and bad, you have packed our stands and cheered on our men in black. In a sport such as ultimate, where the stadium is more intimate and our players are integrated in the local community, we think of you as family and we are forever thankful for your support.
We want to thank all of you for embracing our young team and making this year special for all of us. The 2016 season brought a lot for which we can be thankful.
Since our season wrapped in June, we have been working very hard as an organization, preparing for the 2017 season and finding ways to make our fan experience the best in professional ultimate. And while 2016 may not have been as successful on the field as we wanted it to be, we know it laid a foundation for the future, and we couldn’t have done it without the Dojo Faithful!
Without the encouragement from our fans, we would not be able to do what we do. We know that there is a lot to be thankful for, and we wanted to let you know that it is fans like you that make our jobs worth doing. We love that we have the opportunity to highlight top level ultimate in front of the most passionate fans in the country!
The fantastic energy from our fan base feeds us on the field. When we put on the Current jersey, we know we are not just representing the organization, but Washington D.C. ultimate in general, playing out there for every high school, college and even middle school teams, as well as the area’s many men’s, women’s and mixed club teams.
Ultimate is a sport that has always been rooted in a strong community, and we at the D.C. Current are proud to be a part of that in the DMV.
With ever-increasing support from fans like you, we are thrilled to do our part to help spread the sport of ultimate.
Here at the MLU, we pride ourselves on putting on an elite level ultimate experience that everybody, from the ultimate veteran to the novice fan, can enjoy. We love seeing our local ultimate community come out to watch our games and take part in the game day experience.
So with the extended D.C. Current family in mind, we’d like to wish each and every one of you a very Happy Thanksgiving as well as the start of a wonderful holiday season.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving feasts today with friends and family, because come April it will be time for a reunion at the Dojo for opening day.
