The Washington D.C. Current entered the 2015 season with their eyes set on repeating as MLU Champions.  While they were unable to accomplish that feat, but they lead the Eastern Conference in Plays of the Week awarded by the league.  Lets take a look back at the 2015 Plays of the Week:

Week 1 Defensive Play of the Week

Ben Fleming | #24

The game is tied at 18 in double overtime. Jeff Graham, trapped in the end zone, launches a beautiful forehand for Christian Foster, five yards ahead of his defender. Knowing the game is on the line, Ben Fleming runs his best 40-yard dash to catch up to Foster and layout to save the point. The Current went on to win the game a few seconds later. For his efforts, Ben Fleming made SportsCenter’s Top 10 plays last night.

Lloyd Blake & Peter Prial | #14 & #8

Sometimes the best plays aren’t flashy; instead, they feature fundamental skills that translate across all team sports. The give-and-go relies on excellent communication, field awareness and clever cutting. Blake and Prial make it look easy on this prime example of one of the most satisfying offensive moves in sports.

Week 4 Defensive Play of the Week

Delrico Johnson | #4

At this point, if you make the SportsCenter Top 10 plays, you’ll win a play of the week. And if you jump over a guy to make the block catch, you’re at the top of the list for defensive play of the year.

Alan Kolick | #99

Kolick’s usually the one hucking the disc, but in the past few seasons, the MVP has proven why he’s a two-way player at any moment in the game.

Week 8 US Coachways Offensive Play of the Week

Every play counted in this overtime matchup between the Current and Spinners, especially this gritty catch by Calvin Oung. He seems to have a knack for these end zone saves.

Week 9 Friction Gloves Catch of the Week

Bellinger not only stays in-bounds, but he uses his right hand to snag the disc as it afforded him the split second of extra time before hitting the ground. Another intelligent, athletic play from Bellinger.

Week 11 Defensive Play of the Week

Delrico Johnson | #4

Last week, Johnson earned himself the Catch of the Week, and earlier this season, he earned the Defensive Play of the Week. He does it again this week, but if there was an award for All-Around Play of the Week, this would be it. Johnson gets the bookends on an impressive season on both sides of the disc.
